If so, do you think that chef guy is crazy or is he just being tough on them for their own good?

He's tough, but he HAS to be. Too many people expect something for nothing and the show's giving away one HELL OF A PRIZE!!! He can't just hand it over like money to a spoiled child.
Considering 75% of new businesses fail within the first year, the winner HAS to be exceptionally well qualified.

Love that show! He's extremely tough on all the chef's and try to get them at their Best performance. But he is sooo cool and relaxed when they go on their little prize trips, he's a totally different main away from the competition in the kitchen.

I've worked in a publc restaurant before, and had my boss treated me like that I woul have quit on the spot. There is a difference between being strict and being a downright jerk. That guy is over the top mean, and it's not neccessary. He has issues he should get checked out. Either that or he needs Jesus.

I Love that show but the chef needs some meds to calm him down...a little drama is great for the show but I think he just overly does it.

I think he's tough, but I also think a good portion of him blowing up the way he does is purely for entertainment purposes. Gotta keep the ratings up.
