The vaccine for tetanus shots is produced growing the Clostridium tetani bacteria and harvesting the toxin which it produces. This toxin is then inactivated and injected which causes an immune response.

When I worked at a blood bank, the tetnus shots were made from the blood of people that were given tetnus shots. But that was about 20 years ago. Not sure if they still do it that way.

uh neither. the TB test is made from horse serum though
