That is an unanswerable question to anyone who doesnt believe in the same god as you.
Further, the religious texts are made by man, not god, and therefore I would not put any weight at all on their contents.
A better option for christians and other believers would be to believe in a good god, and then behave in a virtuous way, in line with the goodness that the god embodies.
That would remove the power from the hands of religious leaders, who have fattened their wallets by selling counterfeit religious rubbish for centuries.
