I have a 2001 grand caravan and yesterday I went to put the key in and it would no turn. Everything else is fine but the damn key wont budge! I tried and so did several of my neighbors for well over an hour. The steering wheel is not locked and it is in park so what the heck is wrong with it?

Call a locksmith. This requires steering wheel removal and a new lock and key to make it work again.

Sounds like your ignition switch has dropped some tumblers or that some of the tumblers are stuck or frozen.

Try spraying some WD-40 in the key slot and then work the wheel and key back and forth at the same time.

I have a LeBaron (same switch) and had the same problem. I eventually had to replace the switch. It's easy to do if you are mechanically inclined - but you do have to buy a special bit to get the fasteners out.

The steering wheel may be locked. I have had this problem before. Try slowly turning the key back and forth as much as you can while jiggling the steering wheel back and forth. This fixed the problem for me after a few minutes of trying.

Good luck!

Could have a wee piece of metal jammed in there - a locksmith could get it out if that's the case. It could also be any number of things, but in addition to personal experience, that is quite common. If not, have you been using the right key?

Spray lube into the lock and try another key,

If that does not work have ignition switch replaced.

Try another key if you have one - keys wear and eventually quit working. You may also try pushing the key in while trying to turn it.

TRY TURNING THE STERING WHEEL. REALLY HARD. SIDE TO SIDE. THAT HAPPENDS TO ME ONCE IN AWHILE!!! The first time that happened to me...I started freaking out...I thought my keys broke. I don;t know why cars do that!!! even though your in "park" gear. may take a few seconds. don;t panic! hahaha

Good luck.
