Can ivory satin/silk fabric dress shoes be repaired from being chewed up by a dog?

I recently purchased gorgeous ivory colored dress shoes in a satiny fabric. A friend's dog got to one of them. The majority of damage is to the back of one heel. If I had matching fabric I could possibly take off ALL the fabric from that section and re-glue it. A shoe repair person said if it was leather he could repair it, but otherwise nobody can repair it. Any suggestions?
