Unlikely, He will have to go, but I'm sure he will go in heroic style, making the ultimate sacrifice to save...? Also in world of Harry Potter, dead is not exactly dead is it!

If he dies then a lot of young fans - and some not young - will be pretty upset. Having read all those books and having made the author wealthy, then being let down by a bummershit ending wouldn't be a kind thing for all those fans out there to be "rewarded" with. Kids will have a harder time with this, of course. Rowling says she might do this just so other authors won't write their own Potter stories. Selfish of her, I think. Arthur Conan Doyle tried to kill Sherlock Holmes off, but he brought him back after a while. But as this is the last Potter book coming out, I think Rowling would be very ill-advised to kill him. One man's opinion.

No, Harry will die.
Several reasons:
First=Rowling has been hinting at it – she said conceived of the whole 7 book series at once, and already wrote the last chapter of book 7 many years ago, plus she has stated she doesn’t want Harry’s story to go on - no sequels! She connected this with the idea of killing Harry off to prevent the possibility of sequels.

Second = Practicality. Harry is quite powerful, skilled, brave and resourceful. For a kid. He is not even remotely a match for Voldemort. In “the Order of the Phoenix” Dumbledore himself barely survived his one-on-one fight with Voldemort. He was shaken and exhausted afterwards. V seemed untouched. Harry isn’t even 1% of Dumbledore’s skill and knowledge. Now that Dumbledore is gone, there isn’t anyone of that caliber to teach Harry- nor does he have the years to learn it all. Harry survived his encounters with V so far by escape. He won’t stand a chance in a knockdown / drag out fight (not to mention he’d have to kill almost all of Voldemort’s entire inner circle to prevent them from intervening if he got even close). Practically speaking – his only real chance is as “the crazy lone gunman”. He has got to get close enough to V with a powerful enough weapon to ensure Voldemort will die, even though V & his followers will surely kill Harry as he attacks.

Third, and most obvious- Harry is obviously a Horcrux himself. He obviously has a bit of Voldemort’s soul in him. Even when all the other Horcruxes are destroyed, Harry and Voldemort will remain. It is entirely possible that If Harry finds & destroys all the Horcuxes, it will be Voldemort who (unwittingly) kills himself by killing Harry. Or Harry may have to commit suicide to kill Voldemort.

Re-read the prophcy - it seems to say both Harry and V must die.

Alternative theories – Something strange about Snape has never added up. I think its possible Snape may kill Voldemort. He is smart enough and clever enough to wait for the perfect moment when V is most vulnerable and off guard/ unprotected. Snape would get his revenge on Voldemort for killing the only woman he loved! (I know a lot of you haven’t figured that out yet – Snape was in love with Harry’s Mom!).

More theories:

The groundwork has been laid for Snape to train Harry in killing V.
Dumbledore’s brother might be able to teach Harry something.
Harry may have to seek out and make friends with Fawkes.
I think Hermione will survive – She seems like Rowling’s alter ego. I think Ron and Ginny will be killed. For that matter, I wouldn’t be surprised if almost all the order of the Phoenix were killed.

I want him to. It would be too depressing if he didn't. it would mean the point of his whole existance was to die. I want him to have a happy ever after with Ginny.

I know JK has been making suggestions that she'll kill him off, but I think (hope) it's just to keep us guessing.

Hopefully he won't. Then we won't have to worry about there being another book after the last one (and hopefully the lnext book is the last one).

no, i hope not, Voldemort can't win!! my bets for who will die (cuz 2 ppl die in the book) would be like Hagrid, or Snape, or Ginny. but not Harry. I guess maybe Voldemort could die...

ooooooooooooooh ................ yea, i think he is ............. i mean, someone very important is bound to die, but not harry potter ........ he's the whole reason for the books, jk wouldnt kill him off, that would kill the whole idea and ruin it.

for me, i hope that he gets back with ginny, and that ron and hermione finally admit their feelings and start going out.
