Sometimes you can't tell if they have bitten you. You only find out when you start scratching and normally its bite results in a reddish swelling. Depends on how sensitive the person is to its bite. I am sensitive to their bites. Living In heavily infested areas of mosquitos can result in some people getting malaria.

it's actually a poke not a bite. They have a proboscis that they poke you with and then suck your blood.
