sovereignty to the UN?

isn't this the same organization that didn't do anything during the Rawanda genocide, the Serbian Genocide, the Sudan genocide (oh, wait, they did send in some blue helmets, but they ended up raping thousands of the women they were supposed to protect), did nothing for 12 years of UN sactions violations by Iraq, has done nothing to stop Iran from developing the nuke, and just DELAYED a vote on N. Korean sanctions for bringing us another war.

Because they are filled with guilt. They have pity for the underdog no matter how corrupt or evil. They think that we should not be allowed to use our force on a lesser enemy because he is weaker. They have no backbone and only know how to appease. Look to Carter & Clinton as examples. This a far cry from the real democratic leaders such as FDR & Johnson.
I think another thing is this feminist movement that has confused little liberal boys from becoming a man. Most liberal men are momma's boys who can't & won't make a descision as a man.

Where did you get the idea that liberals want to give up U.S. sovereignty? If anything the lack of teeth in the UN shows that we haven't done this.

I agree that the UN had it's hands tied by the member nations during the Rwanda genocide, I hadn't heard that about the Sudan ( I'll have to get more info)

As for Iraq. It's an example of how UN sanctions, can bring about change. After we invaded Iraq we now find out that the sanctions actually worked in disarming Iraq, and the No-Fly zone had them effectively neutered as a power in the region.

You also didn't mention the UN resolutions that helped bring about the end of apartheid, or how, even though they were late, they successfully resolved the conflict in the Balkans.

There are many positives and negatives to the UN, but to say that liberals want to give up our sovereignty is just ridiculous.

Most countries in the U.N. are just looking out for their own interest, with no regard to the other nations.

An example of this would be Russia and China, not sanctioning action against repeated warnings to Iraq. Russia and China had oil contracts with Iraq.
