Sorry I know this isn't the info you asked for but why are you giving up on breastfeeding so soon? Did you encounter a difficulty that you might need some help with? Many people give up over situations that are easily solved as long as they get the correct advice. It's your choice but I would love to help you continue if you would rather not quit.

You can give up to 4 oz. Don't put him down untill he burps real good. It may be be given every 4 hours. If he still spits up then call your doctorand make an app. It ma be normal for him.
I also gave up on breast feeding.

Oh... You're stopping? Why??? Don't give up on breastfeeding - everyone I've ever known who has stopped has regretted it SO much! Your baby may be spitting up a lot due to overfeeding, yes, but it may also be the formula itself - one lady I know had a baby that couldn't tolerate any formula except the most expensive stuff I've ever seen! Then she complained about the number of dirty diapers (breastfed babies poop less) she kept wishing she stuck with it...

Why let go of breastfeeding? In the long run, it proves to be both efficient and economical. Plus there is no guessing in the serving size.
If your babe is spitting up, you may want to look into a different formula type, as well as the serving size.
Hope it helps.

I always made my babies 8 oz bottles every two hours. It may be an allergy to the formula it self. My son spit up alot we went threw 6 different formulas before we found one for him.

if the baby is spitting up all the milk he gets then there might be some sort of digestive problem. you should consult your doctor. but as a general rule i think its like 4oz every two hours. but if you can don't give up on the breast. its best for baby and you can pump when you go back to work.
