Both states have excellent qualities. Phoenix is one of the nicest cities in the United States. However, Tennessee has southern hospitality. I'm not sure about the tax rates in AZ, but taxes in Tenn. are pretty cheap compared to other states. The weather is nice in both states. There are places to snow ski and water ski in both states, as well. However, Tennessee has trees and mountains with trees. The state also borders several states so traveling to a vacation hot spot does not take as long and there are several nearby.

ARIZONA!!
The Grand Canyon is beautiful! And they just made this little thingie. I don't know how to explain it...... It like a giant see-through elbow noodle sticking out of the rock (sounds crazy). It's a tunnle you can go through and you can look straight down into the river.
And there is little humidity. It is really hot in Arizona, but because there is no humidity, you dont sweat that bad. Tennessee is different. When it's just 80 it's like a SAUNA!!!!Not fun. Except in spas. ; )

Tennessee. Arizona is too hot in the summer, and most of the year. It also tends to catch on fire, and they don't have a good football team.

Tennessee, it is beautiful, average year round temp is 52 degrees, the highways are excellent and well maintained, people are friendly the state parks are awesome. No state income tax, sales tax runs about ten percent.
The Cumberland Plateau area is beautiful, winters are mild, of course after living in northern Indiana any winter would be mild!

I would have to vote for Arizona, and we have lots of places that are not that hot in the summer. Also where you can go snow skiing in the winter, and a couple hours drive you can go water skiing in the same day. It's a wonderful state. I sure would never go back to the east coast.
