What I want to know is, would it change how you feel about someone to find out that they are the owner of another person, or that they are owned by another person?
I am owned propety, and everyone I know, knows it, they always have, so I dont know what it is like to be treated with anything other than love and acceptance by my family and friends, although my Master is reluctant to let others know that He owns a slave, only because He is a business owner and is afraid it would harm His business if the general public found out.
When we are around the people who circle me, we are very open about our relationship, but we do not go out in public becuase He is married (His wife knows all about who and what I am and has no problem with it) and doesnt want to have to answer questions about who I am and why I treat Him the way I do.

I would be perfectly fine with it. Heck, I would actually find myself more interested in their relationship, assuming that they were the ones making the revelation. (If it came from another source, it would be rumour which I would dismiss, even if there were validity to it.)
I'll want to address the D/s aspect of the relationship as whatever play that goes on between the two is their business and their perogative for privacy. In the hypothetical case presented, knowing that one of them is a slave gives me the ability to know how to interact better with them. If we were having a conversation, they would most likely be at ease whenever the Master/Mistress gives commands to their slave. It would be something that I can adjust to and deal with.
In your specific case, that doesn't entirely sound applicable as you would not the the Cleavers, but rather the "secret mistress". Nevertheless, I understand the gist of your question. You are right and proper to keep your relationship with your Master under wraps in the vanilla world. We do still live in a society that is not entirely ready to accept the notion that some people have urges to serve another human being.
At least you do have your trusted circle of family and friends to rely on as support. A lot of couples do not have even that. Looking into your family's and friend's eyes, you see how some people will respond, in your case positively. However, that is because of the depth of you relationship with them. In general life, most of us will never have the time to know you as anything but a caricature which will have blanks filled in by their pre-conceived notions. Getting to know someone, such as your neighbours, removes these blanks and presents you as what you truly are, a human being.
Hope that answers your question.

It would make me more curious than anything.
Funny thing: My boyfriend's friends found a writing I did about how he's SO cuckolded. They didn't even take it seriously, and just told him that his girlfriend has some interesting fantasies. lol.
I think that true life style BDSM domme/sub relationships are relatively rare. Also, less socially acceptable due to wide spread ignorance and fear.
I know it must make things weird to be completely open at a personal level, but that he isn't able to be with everyone he knows.

Well, that depends on what your definition of "hard core" is. I think you would be surprised at what the people you meet on the street do behind closed doors, and I'm not sure it matters. As long as they are honorable in their relations with others, and as long as both parties consent to their lifestyle, it really should make no difference.
My husband/Master and I are "in the closet," so to speak. This is because both of us stand the risk of losing long-time careers if it was found out that we live as Master and slave. But, we all have our secrets, don't we?

Very interesting. I guess nowadays it may surprise me if I knew of this after I had gotten to know them. If it was out in the open to begin with, it would not be so much of a sup rise. I find this lifestyle very intriguing. I am very curious to hear more about it.
