I was beaten to my answer..........nail varnish remover.
Make sure you add it a drop at a time & be careful of the furniture in case of spillage. I t doesn't take much to thin it but you might be better off just buying another bottle of tippex.
Nail varnish remover is a very short term answer.

Try a bottle of Pentel Microcorrect or Microcorrect superfine. These are more expensive than Tippex but better value in the long run. The tip is a valve you press against the mistake and squeeze gently. As the valve lets no air into the bottle the fluid never thickens up and you can use it to the last drop. To cover a word or line use a correction tape, Pentel's 25 metre one is good value or I like the side on action of the Tombow one. These are instantly dry but pen ink sometimes looks lighter when you write over them. Tippex do a cute one that looks like a mouse but it doesn't work very well.

Before you get started, check to make sure you copied the problem right. The way it is typed, you get a funny answer. I'll go through solving it here, and if you need to you can change the numbers. The trickiest part of word problems is taking the words and putting them into equations. First, lets pick variables: Let d be dollars and m be miles Plan 1: d = 47.98 + 0.13*m Plan 2: d = 47.98 + 0.15*m Set the two equations equal to each other: 47.98 + 0.13*m = 47.98 + 0.15*m Subtract 47.98 from both sides: 0 + 0.13*m = 0 + 0.15*m Subtract 0.13*m from both sides 0 = 0.15*m - 0.13*m Combine the like terms: 0 = 0.02*m Divide both sides by 0.02: 0/0.02 = m The number of miles where the two plans are equal is zero miles (as the problem is written, if you copied the problem wrong, use the same steps on the different numbers).

I believe that 1,1,1-trichloroethane is now illegal in the UK due to it being an extremely nasty substance (toxic, carcinogenic etc.) and all Tipp-Ex now on sale is water-based, so can be thinned down simply by adding water.
