While I was in late pregnancy with our twins he forged one of my checks to go buy drugs- because of my condition and the fact that I was trying to help him get over his addiction - ha!- I let it go. Even today my Mom says turn the other check - BUT - my attorney says if I want to protect my kids from a crack addict I have to build a case - would this be the time to hit him with a feleony? We won't reconcile - too much has been said and done- I believe he has a new piece of tail - and I have two almost 5 month old babies to care for - and I believe that can be done better without the addict. Should I or shouldn't I?

I agree with the yes to sue & go for legal. But he would never have money to pay you back or pay child support. Look at this man. No way. So is up to you what consequences do you want. However, while you are suing him, is there any danger to you or your family? Would he take his anger out on you guys? These are the things you need to consider. Is all sweet for others to say the law is on your side or you will be protected. But no one can be with you 24 hrs as body guard. Good luck.

Youa re doing it out of spite. Leave it alone and concentrate your energy into what is really important: gettmg child support.
Putting yourself through the emotional pain of a criminal case is not worth your hassle. So he forged your check, if you don;t have bad credit problems because of it , get over it. trust me, is not worth it, besides, noone pays for crak with a personal check so it will be hard to prove that he used the money for thet purpose.

nothing shuts a child support hearing down like a federal offense felony
look if he's really crack addicted you have to use any and every tool available to you to protect him against those kids
if and when he ever beats crack cocaine, then he should be allowed in their lives, but not until
right now he is a danger to every person around him, put him in jail, do whatever you have to do, you have two young ones in danger

The two issues are not related. Let it go as that was your original choice. Work on support for your children and chose differently next time there is some issue you can nail him with.

I can't speak for where you are from, assuming you are from the US, but in the UK cheque forgery is a very serious crime and if he is funding a drug addiction with that sort of behaviour, then place your kids welfare first and use what he did to build your case.

I fee lfor you and those babies, You need to do whatever your mother instincts tell you to do, keep those babies away from him. Drugs can cause more problems for those babies than you could ever imagine. It could cause you alot of trouble too. I'd either get him in jail or get as far away from him as you can with the babies.
