I can't help but think that the president has been used as a conduit by some unhealthy and unsavoury characters.

Used like toilet paper. He's a lightweight on his own, or haven't you seen him bumble through a press conference?

You should check out this link for more on how Bush was used by the real creeps in his Administration:

And thank you for asking for Truth.

Truth? Unfortunately, all we have is opinion on this matter, because if we say that he was indeed used during his time on the Dick and Condi Show, then we're admitting we elected a president who isn't smart enough to make decisions on his own, or to notice when he's being given bogus information. On the other hand, if we say he understood what was going on the whole time, we're saying that he's just as unhealthy and unsavory as they are. Lose-lose situation. Which is the case? This is, obviously, under the assumption that we're saying anything they've done is wrong -- there are some people who defend every action they've taken as good and righteous and totally in keeping with the ideals of a democratic society. Just my humble opinion, but the sky must be a lovely color on their planet; where I live, a lot of people are unhappy with how things are being run in Washington, and just not sure what we can do about it. As far as the truth is concerned, history may be the only judge. Was George W. Bush a patriot, an idiot or a crook? I certainly couldn't say for certain, though I have my own feelings on the matter.

I don't think so.

One, because the President is actually pretty bright (ivy league university, tested higher than John Kerry).

Two, even if the advisors were able to manipulate the President into invading Iraq (or whatever), for what purpose? What would these guys be getting out of it? Don't say money, because that's so not true. None of them own Haliburton stock, for example. And let's stop beating the dead horse known as "War For Oil".

I just don't see the point of some advisors pulling off some huge conspiracy for no reason.

Bush is a puppet whose grand parents gave so much money to Harvard and Yale that when it came to allowing Bush to graduate they said, "We gotta kick up his grades and let him slide through with a C average, its' not like he's ever going to be president or anything"

Impeaching Bush would be useless too, kind of like cutting the head off a snake that has it's brain in it's butt.

Absolutely, especially Wolfowitz. Did you notice this Jew was in the U.N. building in Iraq when it got nailed by the rocket? Can you believe a Jewish war plan has delivered Babylon into the U.S.'s hands? These are baffling times.

He wasnt used. He has a knack for running well run companies into the ground, just look at what he did with the Rangers. If he was used maybe we would still have a surplus.

yes...but by no means is this man as dumb as he sounds. I think he was used but I also think he knew exactly what was happening some of the time and let his aides take the fall

No. That's a pretty silly and baseless assertion.

Do Bush-bashers' thinking go deeper than this? Or is this as deep as it goes?
