Always, because people arent like me, or I am not like them. Society in general wants you to fit a mold that they dictate year by year, month by month. If you dont have the latest and greatest in material things, or look like a movie star, etc. Then you are out of the loop. I say dont compete with them. To even try is really pointless. If you are like me, you maybe alone your whole life, but at least you have some dignity and love of self.

I have been lonely since I was 6 years old when my father walked out of my life. My point being, we may carry a lonlieness for a loss we experience at a young age. Look inward, and realize that you are a person worth knowing, and put yourself "out there". Consider it a work in progress. Talk about topics that interest you, and show interest in what others are talking about, and open yourself to learning how to enjoy the differences of people you are around. Be Happy!

Yes feeling lonely isn't always about others being around but by the way you feel others, you can be with 1000 persons and still feel alone. I'd learn to enjoy alone time but also to let others in, its a risk but the ones who don't risk anything cannot win anything either! Good luck!

its easy to feel lonely in a crowded room.....the best way to cope is to learn to like your own company.
the way to change it is to get out there and talk to ppl....easier said than done?? may be,but well worth the effort....i should know i've been where you are.
once you find someone be it a friend or in a relationship and you can share your thoughts and wishes the world will seem a much nicer and less lonely a place.

yes i do

i have a project which i call learning to be alone. It's about the reverse situation - when I really am alone. I have a lot of work to do on that one.

the project for the lonely-in-a-crowd situation is called learning to like being me. It's been running longer than the other project and it's further ahead. It's taken years but who's counting?

Yes, the strangest experience I've ever had is standing on the dance floor in a club feeling so alone and that was before I got into drugs!!! lol

I now have more self-confidence, found Jesus and know that I am never alone!!

Yea, I do experience it when I'm in a crowd of people, but alone time is more enjoyable for me.
I think if you had a partner while you are in a crowd then you would not feel so alone(I could be wrong?)

Yes I do, but after meeting this guy Jack with the kids and physco ex, that went away, I had lots of friends.... but before Jack.... I had those same sad feeling, connecting with someone you love changed it all. but in the meantime, reading, partying with friends ... I do those things, but still it isn't the same......

Just bump up against the person you are most attracted to, say "ooops, well I guess I better introduce myself now" and smile provacatively until they make conversation.
