Lost in Translation, Pi, The Sacrifice, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Stay. None of these movies are about loneliness per se, but they are about some pretty lonely people.

Castaway is a good one although it's about isolation more than loneliness. That's a different kind since you long for ANY social interaction and aren't waiting for a specific type.
