Most Rap is not music AT ALL. It has rythm, but so does my heart. It has words, but usually not any more thoughtfull than any Shell Silverstein or Dr. Suess poem. The rest is usually samples of music and electronic noise. No harmony, mo melody, no music.

I am a christian also and I happen to love the beat of rap music! I don't agree with the words but love a lot of rap! I don't feel that it's wrong. I listen to all kinds of music, even christian. Christian music makes my soul feel better!

Yea of course you can! Im a christian and I listen to rap music, and I dont listen just for the beat...I listen to it for the lyrics too. I also listen to it to hear what message the rappers trying to send out to everyone.

There are two things you have said that let me know you are in serious trouble. First you consider rap music. It's not go to this site and listen to the Hungarian rhapsody number 12http://www.zoltech.net/h/music.html

second you are a Christian. You are letting other people think for you. Have you ever considered the idea that maybe someone made God up just to control you and make you feel guilty!

I used to be just like you now I"m happy. You are a tool but it's okay. Just THINK FOR YOURSELF

I don't see anything wrong with being a christian & listening to rap music as long as you now right from wrong and don't try to imitate the things they say in the songs

Honestly, it depends on who's rapping and what they are rapping about. Somebody like 50 Cent, is not good rap music to listen to, considering your're a Christian.

What are you going to do with that beat? Are you going to dance?

It's really up to you and your relationship with God. If you know that what you are listening to is not of God, or if you could picture God rolling his eyes during the Grammy acceptance speech (you know......"First I would like to thank God"), then maybe, it's not for you.

I love rap, but it's not for everybody, and all rap is not for me. This stuff they put out now is not REAL rap, it's more stripper music..... REALLY!

A lot of these guys get the'r music exposed in the strip clubs. case and point Mike Jones, Luke, Mystikal.....

only when the words are meaningful and you can actually understand what the rapper is saying! All i can say is that I only really like Eminem. At least he's original and can annunciate the workds so you understand what he's saying. but you sound like my friend. she is a devout christian, but she likes the beat as well. I think your safe my friend, because she has like 3 or 4 rap cds!

you know a christian can listen to any music. it is what the lyrics say that make it good or bad. there are bands in all areas of music that have good music with good (healthy)lyrics that are not labled christian music. I to am christian. We as people need to use commen sense in what we say watch and do. Not everything labled as christian is necessarly good and not everything that is not labled christian is bad. it is ok to be different and enjoy life . we do not have to get caught up on that c word my dear
