They don't necessarily need internet to transfer files, but you CAN make a Network between them using either parallel, serial, USB or Ethernet cabling.

The simplest is via an ethernet crossover cable (available for a few $$ at most consumer stores or online) assuming both machines have RJ-45 connectors...

Once the network is created, it is a simple "drag and drop" of files from one to the other...

If no network can be managed, another way is to temporarily remove the Hard drive from either machine, and temporarily add it as a slave to the other, copying files from one drive to the other in a similar manner. If attempting this, it is usually simpler to remove the laptop harddrive and attach it to the desktop.
This can either be done with an external USB enclosure (around $30 or so) or through an adapter card (also around $20 or less).

It depends on how much data you want to transfer. If its less that 4MB you can use a Floppy to copy the data. If you are CD writer on the desktop then you can burn the data that needs to be tranferred and then copy it to the laptop. Another easy way to do is use Windows sharing where you share the desktop to the users.

This setup needs that both the laptop and the desktop need to be on a network, you can setup this network using a CABLE or DSL router . Once both the computers are connected you can share the C drive of the desktop

If both pcs are community waiting, you ought to locate someone with a router or a hub and some cat 5 cabling you could borrow. that must be more low-priced, yet you would likely also want the hub-proprietor, and that ought to no longer be so less costly. ;) Flash memory is fairly less costly - decrease than $20 for a a million GB stick - and is taken under consideration one of the most inexpensive course for you, in case you haven't got multiple information and understand the position to locate them. Your very last hotel is to wave your fingers over your gadgets even as chanting the lyrics to hokey pokey. It received't artwork, yet a minimum of that's loose.
