Being able to control the environment in your own way, according to your desires and without any hindrance and being able to fulfill your desires or needs, which, probably never ends.Because once you get the pleasure of fulfilling your basic needs, you get pleasure out of it but then another set of higher needs perturb you and you try to fulfill them to derive pleasure and the process continues.

Requesting justification for a personal view of pleasure is pretty subjective. No one view is going to be necessarily wrong unless it crosses ethical boundaries. However, pleasure of life is what produces the greatest benefit to the society in general, according to the utilitarian John Stuart Mill. My idea of pleasure is something that satisfies a desire or need. Playing Chess brings great pleasure as does running or participating in softball or Tennnis. Reading a good mystery novel provides a certain amount of pleasure. Spending intimate time with my wife is pleasureable.
Pleasure should always produce a positive outcome to the fulfillment of the one seeking pleasure. All the above mentioned activities meet that criteria for me.

Too many think pleasures are limited to hedonistic pleasures of the flesh. These are addictive and distracting. True pleasure is calm contemplation. Thinking new thoughts is pleasure to me. Philosophical conversation with another is about the highest form of pleasure, with the exception of putting your ideas into practice.

Waking up everyday, and enjoying the environment in which you live. If you don't, then it is time to move or die. Friends are the pleasure of life expressing yourself without condemnation or judgment! Being totally accepted for who you are! Knowing Love and the value of Love in your life, both physical and unconditional love!

Honestly, I don't know. For me, the best would be to be at peace with myself, to be able to establish some balance, to enjoy a harmony with the universe and other human beings.
Right now, I seem to be nowhere near any of these, so maybe I could say enjoying life will be the start.

i believe that the pleasures of life depend upon who you ask and their situations and experiences in life. Some say it's food, or surfing, or vacations, or partying, even sex...but i take pleasure in my family and spirituality...the pleasures of life could mean many things to many people...

One pleasure of life is most certainly reading questions from people who form complete sentences, capitalize words correctly, use spaces appropriately, and spell out words properly.

Sex, of course. Have you had any lately? Just kidding. Passion for living is a pleasure. Knowing you have something to live for. That's pretty self-explanatory. Oh yeah, and food.
