This question has been resolved recently. It says that the first one is the egg because it has been prooved that any changes on lives organism appears on new gens different from the progenitor. So if the old types of chickens reproduce in a different way the first organism with this new characteristic would have to be an egg.

It has to be the egg assuming you believe in evolution. The chicken as we know it today would have first been born from some other animal closely related to the chicken but that chicken would first have to have been inside an egg.

Egg. Lots of creatures lay eggs; fish have been laying eggs since before there were birds at all.
Okay, that's not the answer you wanted. You wanted to know about an egg that hatched out to become a chicken, right? In that case, the answer is:
Egg. It was laid by something that was almost a chicken but not quite. That's evolution for you.
