Probably although when Ian Fleming died he was also halfway through his last book which was' The Spy Who Loved Me'. Sadly the Bond films are nothing like the books and the film of this one was dreadful. Fleming only wrote a few chapters where Bond had a puncture and walked three miles to a motel. There in the bar he met the other guests, a beautiful girl and two heavies. The heavies turned out to be gangsters and tried it on with the girl. Bond rescued her and beat them up before leaving with the girl. That's when Fleming died so we never knew how the rest of the book would go. The film, by Cubby Broccoli, was nothing like it and didn't even feature these scenes so someone else finishing a book can change it and ruin it. I would recommend everyone to read the Bond books. They're far better than the films.

If it were not yet finished, it could be finished. I saw a biography on her and she has mountains of info already written on her make-believe world. She has the end already done, but if she did not she has written so much about what her characters did on vacaion and so forth, that it could be extrapolated fairley easily, I think.
I hope she publish more, relating to the thing tht she did not incude in the books, like the forementioned summer vacations and various characters pre-harry's schooling, post voldimort's demise, lives
she could easily make her 2nd BILLION diong that!

How could anyone other than JK Rowling write about Harry?!?!?! The world would just be better off left hanging and drawing their own conclusions as to the finale of the series than to have someone else write the last book.

All of the books have been done for a while. They are just being edited or waiting for their release dates so there really wouldn't be a big problem if she dies tomorrow.

I think all that she had already written so far on the 7th book would be published, so we could at least get a vague understanding of what happened in the ending.

No question. Her heirs (and her reading public!) would be keen to see an end. Note, Ian Fleming has been gone for some years, and new Bond adventures are still being cranked out.

I think that it would be finished by an author of great stature as a tribute to her legacy. Such as the great Stephen King!!

I bet George Lucas would try to do it. Cause He hasn't had an original Idea that's done any good in years. So this would be right up his alley to reuse and remake crap.
