Personally, I was dissipointed with the second, much awaited Pirates movie. I thought that the plot dragged a little and that it wasn't as witty as the first one.
However, I thought that the cinematography and acting was excellent, and it built up a lot of suspense for the third movie (which I am so excited for!)
Sooooo...what do you think?

I thought it went on 30 minutes too long.
Swing films have this problem as there was far too much going on at the same time and it was hard to keep all of it properly sorted.
There was some good scenes (the Water Wheel fight and the Defense Against the Kraaken), but it blogged down in areas.
Still, I give it a B-.

Yeah i agree with you, it went away from the piratey stuff and more into fantasy. It is still a good movie in my opinion though. It just didn't quite live up to the first one, which would be pretty tough.
Do you know when the third one is coming out. they filmed it at the same time they filmed this one so probably fairly soon. My guess would be around christmas, email me if you know

I have to agree, I was dissappointed with them putting the same old jokes in. And i found the treachery or all the characters made them not quite as likeable. But i think that will all resolve itself in the third movie which will be the awesomest yet!!

Great movie. Better then the first. If you havn't seen the first, go see it before you see the 2nd. It's probably the best sequal to a movie I have seen.
Also, setting box office records should say something.

You're right: dragged a bit. I felt like I did after "Empire Strikes Back," like I had been used just to set up the third installment.

I LOVED it, although i agree, it did drag in parts. However, it has a great set-up, and anyways, I would watch Johnny Depp floss his teeth for 2.5 hours, if chance arose...

I didn't like it at all. I probably won't even see the third one.
Sequels are rarely as good as the first ones, anyway, IMO.

will see it on DVD it's too expensive to drive nowadays that gas is like $4.00 a gallon
