England had a great chance of winning the World Cup this year with players such as Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham. I thought however, that Lampard's performances were totally unacceptable and that he should be ashamed of himself. But the worst performer at the World Cup was Mr Sven Goran- Erickson, he could see that players like Lampard were underperforming but chose to turn a blind eye. Thank goodness he is gone!!!

I don't think there is anyone in England who thinks Beckham is remotely as good as the hype that surrounds him is large and many of us here reckon that he should be playing for his place. Rooney was injured coming into the tournament and was still working his way back to fitness. He did pretty well under the circumstances (sending off apart obviously) and anyone who watches him knows that he is a fantastically brilliant player who, given full fitness, may well have ended the tournament acknowledged as the best in the world. Lampard was very poor however, but it wasn't just the English who voted him as the world's 2nd best player this year!

No he is not. The only purpose y u don't comprehend him is on the grounds that he plays in Bayern Munich. If he played in man. Utd or Arsenal, ud have adored him. There are other worse players like Peter Crouch

Rooney. The entire country was behind him and let it down with such an infantile action. Lampard played well but he was off the mark.
