I heard a radio program by this "electronic surveillance" expert- you can hear it at - bugsweep.com - radio talk show icon with George Noory--- he said that some of the phones record even when they are in the off position ---they supposedly record the conversations going on around them, then every 15 min. they send a "packet" to the internet. (He monitors them with over $100,000 worth of electronic equipment --and it is his job).Do you think this is true?

Everything is tapped to a certain extent. Don't think for a min that you are not being watched or listened to in one way or another. Why do you think people are blowing up about the wire tapping done in in the name of homeland security and there's no telling what else they are doing that hasn't leaked out.

I believe that a conversation can be recorded over the phone, but I also think that there are not enough people to sit around and listen to everyone's conversations. I think that there are "trigger words" that will make it start recording your conversation if you say them, such as bomb or whatever.

Yes, and bigfoot is coming down in a UFO to pick up the Lock Ness monster tomorrow.

Seriously, I work in the software industry and we write software for cell phones. No, there is no surveillance.

No, I think it sounds like an answer looking for a problem or, in this case, some expensive work. I'm sure his very expensive equipment will demonstrate that there is a problem and he just happens to have a very expensive fix to sell you.
