Both at the same time will give you problems.

Bass amps don't reproduce high frequencies very well, and guitar amps don't dedicate enough power to the low end.

Besides, unless the inputs are mixed together before they hit the preamp, the instrument with the loudest sound (most likely, the bass) will drown-out the guitar.

Alternately, you could get a power amp and full-range speaker, (like a PA speaker) and use 2 modeling amps like the POD or V-Amp - 1 for bass and one for guitar.

I wouldn't recommend using the same amp for bass and guitar. If you have to do it you should probably get a bass combo amp. It will handle the load better, but you would need one with a lot of power to handle both at the same time. It would probably be a better idea to buy one for each. The site below will let you pay it out over 3 to 5 months with no interest.

what you need my friend is a multichannel amp that you can run bass through without it blowing up, i reccomend you look at key board amps most of them are multichannel and are made for both bass and treble. look at the peavey km-5 and other multichannel keyboard amps!
