It's good they didn't let Zidane's behavior reflect on his natural talent...but some might disagree. What do you think? Should the Golden Ball Award have been awarded to Zidane?

Yes, Materazzi did say that Zidane deserved the award because he was the best on the pitch. He won it for what he did on the pitch," Materazzi said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport published Thursday. "He was the best." Materazzi was the one that was headbutted, if he feels that Zidane should keep the golden ball, I dont see who can disagree.

The Golden Ball Award is voted at half time, the day of the final game...His behavior at the end of the game was not considered against him...
He was a great player, he took his team from big underdogs to WC finalists. Same did Maradonna, Paolo Rossi, etc ...
Did drugs make Maradonna a lesser good player? I don't think so!

yah, totally he was the best player in the the field the whole tournament. In my opinion that what zidan did was not wrong if the italian guy insulted him. i know that caused was bad to the team but anyway he was not the reason for the team loss. the other french players didn do the kicks very well.Anyway he totally deserve it.

I think that if they gave it to him then he must have deserved it. It would be terrible to let one moment of bad judgement overshadow his performance throughout the entire games. And my guess is, the guy had it coming to him!

Absolutely not. Sportsmanship is a part of the game.

he's not even the best player on his own team. I'd take henry any day (even without the headbutt incident)
