I just told my daughter she can start shaving, and I was wondering what a suitable razor is for her.

Try some disposable Bics. They're simple, easy to use & can throw away.

The Schick Silk Effects or Silk Effects Plus is a great razor to start with....and she may well never change. It has aloe strips that help soften the skin, but also have thin protective wires over the razor blades, which keep nicks and cuts to a bare minimum. My daughter started shaving with this razor at the age of 10, and has worked very well for her, although she has since abandoned it....but I have used it for over ten years (refillable blades), and have yet to find one better!

I am 14 and My mom did the same thing for me I was allowed to start shaving at 12. We used the bic razor and that didn't work too well,. I would cut my self usually at the shin or on the knees. So my mom bought me the veet bladeless shaving kit and I am still using it to this day. You can't cut yourself and it works GREAT =]. just make sure to read the directions there very simple. Good luck =]

Well, I would suggest an electric razor. When I first started shaving that is what I used and it worked OK. Or you could buy her an Intuition(the name of the razor) that has soap/shaving cream around it and they work great!

I would recommend that you take her to get her legs waxed, if she never shaved before it's going to be so easy to have it done and the hair will not come back darker and stronger, I regret that I shaved my legs in the first place and promised myself that I'll take my daughter to have them waxed.
If you do insist on letting her shave, really there is no safe razor so just teach her how to use it. I personally prefer (and I tried them all) razors for men.

A good way to start is using the hair removal cream that comes with the plastic razor. It can give her the idea without the possibility of cutting herself.

well all venus razors are great!! they hug ur curves and help prevent cuts! also using skintimate shaving gel will make a moisterizer around her legs, and also help prevent cuts.. the one thing i hate about shaving is getting cut, and know i barely get cut because of those two items.. tell her not to shave fast, as better results occur with slow/normal speed shaving..

well good luck with her!!

btw do not let her use hair removal gels!! they burn your legs, and she will not like it.. irritations are very common... shaving is the best!! waxing may last longer, but does hurt the first couple times..

well once again GOOD LUCK to both of u!

when i was 12 and started shaving my mom just got me a normal schick razor[short and fat ones] and now i am 14 and i use the intuition ones since they are fast so you can shave before school.

The one I have is awesome. You don't need any shaving cream! It is called Intuition. I don't know how much the actual shaver is, but the refills are $7-8 and there are three in a pack.

Well I am 12 and I use the Venus Vibrance it works really well but other razors are good but stay clear of the disposable kind they scare me to death they cut sooooo easy!
