Starters
1 - Cy Young
2 - Christy Mathewson
3 - Bob Gibson
4 - Babe Ruth
5 - Greg Maddux
Relievers
1 - Dennis Eckersly
2 - John Franco
3 - Mariano Rivera
Ok. Now to explain this.
1 - Cy Young. Cmon....hes got the damn award for best pitcher named after him. He was a PHENOMENAL pitcher.
2 - Christy Mathewson - His stuff was UNTOUCHABLE. Period. I think he still has the lowest career ERA for anyone with 200+ wins
3 - Bob Gibson - Just a solid, all around great pitcher.
4 - Babe Ruth - Holds the record for lowest ERA in a World Series AND hit 714 HRs? Whoa. Beat that.
5 - Greg Maddux - NOBODY can throw off-speed and with such mastery in the modern era like Mad Dog. Nobody. Look at his stats. He paints the plate like Picasso.
I feel my relievers' stats speak for themselves. Franco, Eck and Mo are arguably three of the best closers of the modern era, all have really high save totals, and Eck even has 100 wins to go with his 400+ Saves.
