I'm a geek, but I never wore glasses =)

Not all geeks wear glasses, but besides that, the geeks arent the ones creating those viruses. Some say anti virus companies create these viruses so that they can keep themselves in business. Some say young kids do it just for laughs. Some say the government does it so that it balances out the computer industries so that not only computer manufacturers get all the profit, but software manufacturers also can profit from this industry.

Its all a matter of who you believe.

its for one reason mate, they cant get a girl and anything else in life so to give them some power in their own little twisted world they create and distribute viruses
i honestly cannot understand what goes on in the mind of these prats, the misery they cause ,as a virus depending on the type can actually wreck a hard drive, some ruin the drive itself,so even a format will be useless
due to the damage that viruses do,i think there should be a law that gives longer sentences to virus writers, cause if they knew they were gonna spend 10 years inside(without their p.c),they might think twice
and while some users continue to use out-of-date anti virus programs(yes its true,i saw a p.c today just like that)the spread new viruses will continue
lets stop the viruses...keep programs up-to-date
good luck

First off, not all geeks wear glasses. And the people who make viruses get a satanic joy in hurting other people. No amount of cursing, tantrum-throwing, or geek-bashing will help that.

Viruses are created for many reasons. Some are created to cause damage while others are intended to disable a computers security settings (antivirus, firewall etc) to allow it to be used for malicious activity such as botting (which is where the computer is taken over and controlled by a hacker). The hackers use the infected machines to coordinate massive DDoS attacks on servers. Often times they will request the owners of the servers to pay them money. If the server owners don't pay they take down the servers. It is kinda like the mafia shaking down a store owner.

Is it only geeks that wear glasses making them? Are you saying geeks without glasses are not capable of making virus programs?

Maybe you are asking why that specific group makes them as opposed to another group that makes them as well.

It may not be the most heinous of crimes but if I got my hands on one of the b*st*rds they'd be left in no doubt what I think of them. It would be a long time before they could operate a keyboard as I'd break every finger with a hammer. How would they like me to break into their house and steal their things just to show them that they have a gap in security?

Virus' are not a problem... just download some software (AVG, trial of McAfee...) or... get a free scan from McAfee Symantec E trust or Bitdefender (bitdefender is brilliant)
