Materazzi, the italian player seems to have insulted Zidane referring to his mother which is a very unacceptable insult for someone fro an Arab country. According to some specialists and ad libs, Materazzi first insulted Zidane as an Arab (racism) which Zidane overlooked but then he referred to his mother as a whore. Zidane's mother is ill and adored by her son so this provocation was uncalled for but it was nothing to Materazzi who is known to for lousy actions like this one, to destabilize his opponents.

He's an arrogant sore loser! If the French team, including Zidane was as strong as perceived, then they would've scored a REAL goal during the game and won. But everyone claims that Italy won cause Zidane was kicked out. Don't forget that the Italians didn't miss any of the penalty shots either. And unlike France, this is the 4th cup Italy wins, NOT their first!!!!!!!! And stop spreading the rumor that it was a racist remark from the Italian player. If that's true, Zidane should have more tolerance considering that he lives in a country that has been oppressing his people for the longest time. Let's not forget the French government decision to ban religious uniform in schools couple of yrs ago.

Truth be known no one knows for sure.. People are speculating making it this big DRAMA that it was something racial... But no one know at ALL because no one heard it...

So easy for people to jump on the "oh it was a racist comment" bandwagon.. Were they there? did they hear it? No, what proof do they have exactly? Not even the Coach from France knows what was said and he said so after the game..

Plus one speaks French and one speaks Italian who knows what language it was said in.... Someone could tell me off in both languages and besides body language I wouldn't have a clue what was said to me exactly.

Comment on below post... the key word in the article you posted is "apparently".... no fact, no proof just speculation. Apparently is not justifiable proof it actually happened.

It is not an excuse for behave the way he did. It is a shame that he will be remember for that action and not just for being such a great player.
