You? Ugly? HAHA! That's the biggest lie I've ever heard. You're beautifully gorgeous!

Man, this one stopped me in my tracks...I have the same problem on occasion. This is one problem that does get better as you get older though...and after many years of soul searching, the only thing that has really helped me is doing things for others...that's the answer. Just do something good for someone else, not for the credit or acclaim you get from it, just because it will help someone. It doesn't have to be a big thing, it can be as simple as telling someone they are NOT ugly...even when they feel they are!

Because you spend too much time consciously comparing yourself to people who have 10 ppl trying to make them look better instead of just the one that's working on you. Why would these people lie to you? Do you really think these stars and others you compare yourself to look that good? They are airbushed or have professionals drop by (oohh, i worked on so-and-so the other day) for money or for the "glory" of being able to be a groupie to Britney or whomever. By comparing you ALWAYS set yourself up for failure. Be yourself and be glad your special and unique. If people say your pretty, believe them, compliments often don't come easy to people and when you distrust or throw away a compliment people feel like they've wasted their time, so why tell you again?

Because you look at magazines, television, and billboards. And the message you get is that you aren't good enough... guess what--- that is the whole point of advertising. They want you to feel bad so you buy their stuff.
I'd say stop buying "teen" or fashion magazines and stay away from friends that constantly talk about their bodies. Read Ophelia Speaks. You aren't the only girl who feels like this. Figure out when you feel good--- then replicate that feeling.

Three posssibilities:
1) You lack self-confidence. People are just trying to help, or get down your pants, etc etc.
2) You might suffer from depression.
3) You really are ugly and people are just being nice.
You pick.....

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don't fool yourself that people will like you if you are pretty.
People will like you if you are a friendly...happy person......aaaand if you keep feeling ugly...you're gonna make yourself unhappy and Bang! ..... people then won't like you! :)))) Smile and relax, be thankful for what you have!

probably because you compare yourself to people you see on TV and in magazines. those people are air burshed and what not to the max! walk down the street and look around, look in the mirror. or maybe you're just bored with your look...go get your make up done or a new hair style
