It was not 05 it ws 04. The White Sox won in 05. The curse was for Babe Ruth(the Great Bambino).

You are referring to the Boston Red Sox who until 2004 had not won a World Series since 1918 which was the Mighty Bambino Babe Ruth's last season with them. He then joined the Yankees who proceeded to win many World Series thus the Curse of the Bambino!

It was 2004 for one thing, and it was babe ruth and the team was the boston red sox and its because the red sox sold the babe to yankees, the red sox hadnt won the world series until 2004.
