I'm going to be there from 9/30-10/2 and would like advice on everything from where to stay to where to go and of course, the must do events. Please, I would like to hear from people who HAVE BEEN THERE and know the area. Also, please advise me on anything you wish someone had told you like "don't drink the water" etc. would be appreciated. Right now I'm in the planning stage and do not even have a hotel booked yet so advice on which hotels would be best (staff, service, location, location, location) would really help. Also, as always cost is a major consideration so any $$ saving tips will be appreciated as well. FYI I'm low 30's so I'm looking for more of a party scene than a golf and museums tour.

Been there twice. Not a party-goer, just went to relax. Stayed at the Westin the first time. Great time, very relaxing. Just came back from there a few months ago, this time stayed at the Pueblo Bonito. Even better! Me and the wife were treated like King and Queen. Wonderful scenery, plenty to do. Doesn't matter which Pueblo Bonito you stay at, I can't recommend the place highly enough! I can't wait to go back. (The timeshare presentation is worth it even if you don't buy, just to get the benefits and to get the tour of the place)(benefits are free breakfast (real breakfast! good food!) and at least $200 dollars off food purchases at any of the Pueblo Bonitos)
btw it's safe to drink the water at both the Westin and any of the Pueblo Bonito's there.
A little extra advice: the airport at Cabo: the exit will be lined with what I call "tourist catchers." If you have reservations for transportation or hotel or activities, these people who "catch" you BEFORE you are actually OUTSIDE of the airport, are not the people you made reservations with nor are they affiliated with whomever you made reservations with! If you made reservations prior to getting to CABO, you must go outside the airport before you will meet with whomever you made your reservations. Don't worry, if you can't find your ride to your hotel, then you can always go back into the exit of the airport and the "catchers" will still be more than happy to accomodate you! :)
Just a little more info on the Pueblo Bonitos...The "Rose" and the "Blanco" are very busy. If you enjoy crowds and being around people and partying and activities, those two are for you. If you want relaxation with no kids under 16, you will want to stay at the "Pacifica". If you want a mix, activities with the possibility of getting away from it all, "Sunset Beach" is probably best.

Hello...I am a local and I can tell you that you WILL LOVE the place. Definitely stay in Cabo San Lucas. VIllas del Palmar is an expensive resort, but look into the Time share rentals as recommended. If you really are on a budget then try a hotel a few blocks from ther beach and in the heart of the party zone. Let me know if you need further recommendations. September and October might be the worst season...hurrican season and you might get lost of moisture and rain if you get lucky. The end of October is much better, so try to change if you can. Water is 100% safe to drink...this is a civilized country, no more speedy gonzalez around. I'll be happy to answer more queries 4 u. theclubcabo@yahoo.com

If you are looking for a place to stay, I highly recommend going to E-Bay, typing in Cabo San Lucas and then seeing if any persons with timeshare weeks are auctioning their week. I usually go to Cabo a couple of times per yer becuase I get such great deals on e-bay. A five star resort can go between $400 and $600 on e-bay. That is for seven nights and eight days. No taxes or hidden fees. Any resort along Medeno beach is what you want. Playa Blanco, Melia Cabo San Lucas, Club Cascadas, to name a few. All are 5 stars. Water out of the tap is fine. The town is within walking distance. Good restaurants are all over, but expect to may American prices. Sunset cruises are great. Snorkeling, especially in Santa Maria bay, is fabulous. Town is very safe, with little or no crime. On your first day visit the Supermarket and stock-up on snacks and beverages. You will save a ton of $$ off the prices at the hotels, and that you would otherwise consume at the pools. Cabo is one of my favorite places. I have been down there are 50 times in the last 20 years. You will Enjoy. Best Regards, Jim Harris

Don't be upset please, I am also planning my first trip..lol, same time frame also. I will tell you about the great deal I got using Costco Travel - my round trip airfare, plus accomodations at the Villa Del Palmar - where every 3 nights, you receive one free night, came out to less than $850, for 1 week. I'm getting married there and I have heard about the official looking people at the airport but there is one more thing that I have been warned about. At the airport, you will be going through their security check point and there is a "button" you have to push - get a green and your good, get red and they take you off to the side and go through everything. My friends advice is this, if you are going in a group, then put other people between you so there is a gap between each of you as you go through the "green" light.
As far as restaurants, I have heard about The Office, Giggling Marlin, and Romeo and Juliet. There is a Costco near the hotels to get water/snacks from, but our hotel has fine water.
Have a great trip!

I was there last year, and stayed at Pueblo Bonito Blanco, it was very nice and the service was excellent!!!! All of the Hotels in Cabo are Pretty Good. The office is a good and cheap place to eat, and you must visit Lover's Beach!!! The best partying happends downtown, in Cabo Wabo or Squid Roe!!!!

LOVE Cabo: Where to eat: The Office, right on the beach. Fun, Great food, lots of entertainment. You'll see a lot of vendors, but you just need to ignore them. Another great place is the Trailer Park-best food. Mi Casa is the best atmosphere. Not cheap, but very very good food.
Place to stay: Villa De Palmar. Very near down town, you can walk via the beach, takes about .30 min.
shopping-huge mall down town, great prices, cute clothes and shoes.
I got to Cabo every year! Lots of fun-ENJOY!

I was there on a cruise ship last year. Took a tour and it seemed like a great place, very clean and also low key. Not a lot happening and not built up with a lot of hotels like Cancun. We visited one hotel overlooking the bay and it was great adn we saw a bunch of others that look first class.
