A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual although many focus on photographs, videos or audio. The word blog can also be used as a verb, meaning adding an entry to a blog.

A blog is an online journal of sorts. If you go to www.blogger.com, you can see many types of blogs. Some people use them to keep in touch with family, others use them as a marketing tool (I have one...and I use it to promote my writing). Still others use them to comment on the world at large.
If you want one, there are several places on the web where you can sign up for a free one (blogger.com, livejournal.com are two of the most popular). You might need to register to read and certainly to have one. But the registration is free as is the blog itself.

Blogs are basically just websites that indivisuals set up for themselves according to a template provided by a host (such as Blogger or Yahoo 360 or LiveJournal or WordPress etc).
Most people's blogs tend to be personal diaries of their day-to-day activities. Some are very personal and others less so. But many weblogs just focus on politics, news and sport. They are very easy to set up and can be fun to write.

a blog is a thing where you write a subject and other people add coments,
you can see them on many websites (put in "blog" on yahoo search),
you can have one if you set a yahoo 360 page.

A blog is just a web log, like www.livejournal.com or the blog tool on www.myspace.com - just go to a site like that and set it up. They're pretty user friendly.

I have been using opendiary.com. You write and others comment (if you want them to - you can have a private journal also). Generally the comments are supportive and caring. You make friends easily there.
