potted plants and bad water

My problem also -
I fill up old, empty milk containers (1 gal plastic, with handles) from the tap - and let them sit open (at least 4 days), to 'aerate' out the chemicals (we have bromine, also) before using on the plants. Depending on how many you have (indoors) - I have 8 - you can adjust the number of containers, accordingly. I keep 4 ready to go - each week. Sometimes the water smells so chemically tainted that I fill more containers to water my potted plants outdoors, too.
So far, this system has worked well, and I don't have yellowing leaves any more. . .

Go to a pet store that sells fish and get a bottle of water treatment stuff. It only takes a few drops a gallon, and it removes most chlorine and chloramine.

lucky day water rep to your rescue! chlorimines are very hard to get out of water because of the ammonia. forget the plants what about you? go to home depot or lowes and buy a reverse osmosis. this is the best way to purify water. they are pricey but worth there weight in gold. also you can but a water conditioner to put on your whole house you have to go to an actual company to buy these they dont sell these puppies at sears. beware of companies that sell these thing and then dont give you what you want it must must must have catalytic carbon in it to take out the ammonia.by the way that water will kill fish too so dont fill your fish pond with it.Good luck!

Exactly, use all the chemicals they sell for fish tanks. That is water conditioners, chlorine and chloramide removers and that is all you need. You can find them in any pet stores and they are cheap since you only need small amount to treat tap water.
