From what I keep reading, pro-lifers assume or say the following:
1. most people use abortion as a form of birth control (most people get an abortion cause their b.c., tubal ligations, or vasectomies failed them, not cause they failed to use them)
2. "they should have thought about that before they had sex" (isn't it obvious that those who get sterilized or use birth control have thought about it? Are they not trying to prevent it?)
3. There are so many people waiting to adopt. (Then why are there so many children waiting for homes? And if everyone chooses (there's that word again) adoption instead of abortion, where are all those unwanted babies going to go? Who's going to care for them until they find a home? (assuming they will all be found a home - too bad for the older kids looking for homes)
4. when you see that baby you'll want it (unwanted children are usually victims of child abuse)
5. There's help out there for single moms (not enough to raise a kid with)

To everyone - I'm not pregnant. This is just a question I have after viewing so many pro-life websites and reading what they think
To kristilee81 - The whole birth control thing isn't guaranteed. I was on the patch until I was 5 months pregnant. I never knew I was pregnant and irregular or no periods were common for me. I gave that baby up for adoption because I didn't want it. I know where it is but I never want to see it and I hope it doesn't want to see me. It'd be better off if it didn't. I have 2 boys now and I wanted them and I wouldn't give them up for anything in the world.
To Mel7382 - I agree with you on asking them to adopt it. Aren't they trying to save a life?
To Agraat23 - I didn't mean most people have abortions. What I mean is of those considering abortion, most of them... Yes I agree there is adoption (I am pro-choice, I believe there are 3 choices for women who are pregnant). Having kids doesn't make you grow up or become an adult or be responsible

Abortion Techniques
Surgical
First Trimester
Suction Aspiration
Suction aspiration, or "vacuum curettage," is the abortion technique used in most first trimester abortions.[9] A powerful suction tube with a sharp cutting edge is inserted into the womb through the dilated cervix. The suction dismembers the body of the developing baby and tears the placenta from the wall of the uterus, sucking blood, amniotic fluid, placental tissue, and fetal parts[10] into a collection bottle.[11]
Great care must be taken to prevent the uterus from being punctured during this procedure, which may cause hemorrhage and necessitate further surgery.[12] Also, infection can easily develop if any fetal or placental tissue is left behind in the uterus. This is the most frequent post-abortion complication. [13]
Abortion Techniques
Surgical
Second Trimester
Dilatation (Dilation) and Evacuation (D&E)
Used to abort unborn children as old as 24 weeks, this method is similar to the D&C. The difference is that forceps with sharp metal jaws are used to grasp parts of the developing baby, which are then twisted and torn away. This continues until the child’s entire body is removed from the womb. Because the baby’s skull has often hardened to bone by this time, the skull must sometimes be compressed or crushed to facilitate removal. If not carefully removed, sharp edges of the bones may cause cervical laceration. Bleeding from the procedure may be profuse. [50]
Dr. Warren Hern, a Boulder, Colorado abortionist who has performed a number of D&E abortions, says they can be particularly troubling to a clinic staff and worries that this may have an effect on the quality of care a woman receives. Hern also finds them traumatic for doctors too, saying "there is no possibility of denial of an act of destruction by the operator. It is before one's eyes. The sensation of dismemberment flow through the forceps like an electric current." [51]

If you do not want to get pg there are lots of birth control methods out there today so you should be able to find one that fits your lifestyle.
If you did end up with an unwanted pg....adoption is the best thing to do. The baby would end up with a family that most likely can not have children of their own but they would take that baby in as if it were there own. They would love that baby and give it all it needed. Hopefully they would be open about where the baby came from and hopefully the birthmother would stay in contact or at least know where that child was in case the child ever wanted to meet her.

I completely agree with your views. As long as abortion is not being used as a form of birth control, and the mother is not too far along, I think it's acceptable.
Just a thought, since pro-lifers seem to be so upset by this, they should fully support each and every baby born to young families and get them off the welfare system. You'd see how quickly their minds would change.

NO. Most people do not have abortions!! Thats murder. There is adoption or here's a new concept keep your baby. You were responsible enough enough to spread your legs and have sex, so be responsible and take care of your consequences. Grow up and be a woman.

I would chose to try and abort the fetus myself either using vitamin C early in the unintended pregnancy or cervical self-dilation techniques if that failed. Miscarriages are very common in my family, so that's on my side too. If nothing worked, I would commit suicide, being certain that it is in a way that makes the fetus non-viable. Nothing gets out of my body alive. Full stop.

have the child and give it to someone who will love and care for it.. my dtr's 9 yr old dtr died last yr.. from heart problems she was born with. but we loved and cared for her until the min. she died. my dtr is a diabetic , and has female problems and we don't know if she can have another child.. last sat would have been her dtrs birthday.. but she is hanging in there her and her husband.. the are wanting another child so bad but it doesn'tlook like she can have one.. so if you want to just give your child to a loving and sweet cpl. that are 2 of the best parents God ever created.. let me know.. my dtr would love to raise the child you don't want.. remember God doesn't make mistakes people do.. so this chid is ment to be born.. just maybe your not ment to raise it...

I guess you would have to go to another country, like Mexico? I totally understand what you're saying though.
