I bought a tent at walmart for 88.00, with 4 sleeping back and 4 chairs even cup holders.. lol and a small ice holder for drinks like a lunchpail.. Anyway i used it in my childcare in the back yard. Now granted i had it outside 24hrs a day 7 days a week.. I will say this it it riped to shreads, the wind and sun and snow then rain destroyed in just months from Aug to Feb it did not hold up.

So this time i got a screaned tent so far it works the best.. the air flow is just enough to not destroy it in the wind, the heat has not torn the threads and the rain has not hurt it..

have fun.. by a strong ten if you are going for months.. other wise get a cheep one and make sure you dont keep it up all year.. lol

It depends on how much camping you intend to do and how much you have to spend. I have used Coleman brand tents and camping equipment forever. I love LL Bean, but you can get just as nice a tent at Bass Pro Shops for less money!!! Walmart is fine unless you plan to camp in the cold, it is best then to get a Really Good sleeping bag and cozy right up to the fire. Hope I helped. Nana

I have a Walmart tent and it is wonderful. I got it last year at this time and has sustained a hailstorm and many other rainstorms. It is sturdy and weatherproof. I am happy with my tent. I see no point in spending a lot of money on a tent when a tent at Walmart serves the same purpose.

Do you plan to camp a lot and reuse the tent over years time. If you are the casual camper and only go once or twice a year and think you will upgrade next summer get the cheap one. All you really need is something to keep the bugs and rain out and clothes and you inside.

For the price of an LL Bean tent, just buy one of the Swissgear portable houses. If you don't want that much space, just go to Wal Mart.
