also.. i am suprised Sony in their wisdom, haven't brought out a harddrive that you can move all your games to and select from the menu the game you want.. stops the risk of scratches etc, and also maybe a 5 disc changer that connects to playstation, so you can swap gameplay without Losing/damaging the games etc... just thinking....

no backing up your own games is not illegal. if you own the original. anyways just use alcohol 120% and make an iso of them to you rpc and then copy them using alcohol. i dont liek writing on the fly because if something happens you screw up a cd. or you could use blind write if that dosnt work. some ps1 games are copygith protected so you may need to see if you have to patch them. i back up all my games and play them from backed up.

The answer to your question is "yes" and "no".

First, there are plenty of programs/tools available that will help you to create backups of your games. Just do a search on PS2 backups and there will be thousands of links. Do some reading and reviews before you buy anthing.

Second, in order to play these backups, you will need a modified PS2 or mod-chip. Again, search for this term and you will get more answers. Modding a PS2 will void your warranty, and the legality of backing up personally owned video games is very vague.

I haven't ever heard of any ways to do this and wouldn't expect for anything like this to actually be available.

One of my clients (I'm a freelance webmaster) owns & runs his own games shop so I'll ask him and let you know but as I've said, I don't expect this to be available. Then again, he has a lot of old PlayStation Original games in the shop anyway so if you need one.....

:-)

I think Alcohol 120% can do that... But I have an Xbox and a GameCube, so I don't know for sure. But, as long as you keep the original game discs, it is not illegal (although most instruction manuals say it is).

there are two ways that you can this...one way to play cd-rw on your playstation (meaning you can play copied games) is to soder in a mod-chip...the other way is to buy a chip that simple plugs into the back of PS or PS2...they are the web...but with the second option you will only be able to play cd-r...

You can get software to copy the games and you will need to get your playstation chipped (a micro chip inserted) to allow you to play the games on it.
