The only people who can ACCURATELY answer your question are DEAD. Doctors speculate that death can be no more than falling asleep, and not waking up, to excruciating painful, depending of the cause of death. There is a lot of in-between area , between the painless death and the excruciatingly painful death.

It sounds dumb, but I had a dream once that I was in Heaven. My Mom, Dad, and Poppy all passed away when I was young. One night I had this dream. I was standing (don't know where), and all of a sudden everything caved into me, like how water sucks down a drain, but only for a split second...then it all burst right back out. Next thing I know I said," MOM...DAD...POP!" I started telling my grandfather how sorry I was (I was an a@@hole teenager and we didn't make amends before he died."
Then I seen someone who I knew didn't belong there, and that's when I knew I didn't belong there either. That's when I woke up. Weird, right! i don't think I died or anything, but for me, I think I know how it's going to feel.

Well unless you know someone who died and comes back I don't see how you could. Jesus does. Sometimes when people are right before death like seconds before they say they see a light or something strange.

Lazarus does. He died and Christ brought him back to life so he knows what death feels like.

That would actually be very interesting to know, but you'll only know if you die, and therefore won't be able to live to tell the tale.

I think we 'die' when we fall asleep,it's just that when you really die,you don't wake up.If I'm right, there is nothing to fear, because you don't know you've been asleep until you wake up,if your dead, you don't know it.
