My 16 month daughter is upstairs with mother wailing inconsolably, we thought it may be teething or a slight infection. She has never been this way before with her teeth and has a temp of 36C. She walk in circles without knowing what to do, she has the maximum amount of meds and even sore mouth gel

I'm not a doctor but I do have a 2,3, & 4 yr old. It sounds to me like she is probably teething. It doesn't really matter how she acted in the past with teething she may be cutting a stomache tooth which will cause them to run a low grade temp. and have a bit of a belly ache. I would suggest laying her on her belly across momma's lap and just softly rub her back, maybe play some soothing music and try to get her to sleep Too much motion may be upsetting her stomache not to mention the pain she probably has on top of it just from the tooth. Just try to be patient and relax and make her as comfortable as you can! :) Good Luck!
BTW changing a babies surroundings often helps comfort them. Maybe you should try holding her and taking a walk outside for a bit (distract her from whatever is causing her to be upset).

It could be a number of things----an ear infection, stomach pains from a viral infection or constipation, sore throat, sinus infection, etc. Bring the child in to the doctor for an examination. Give the child a warm bath to help calm her down and relax her. Rub her down with lotion--Johnson and Johnson makes one with lavender which helps relax children. Play soft music. Turn off the lights, and lie down with the child. Ask the child to touch what hurts--this will help you narrow down whats wrong with her. If you think it is teething ----rub liquid benedryl on the gums this reduces swelling and numbs the pain without numbing the gums completely to the point the child can not feel the gums at all. Complete numbness like what oral gel does can aggravate a child. You can give Motrin or Tylenol --read bottle for dosage. If fever gets high and won't break you can alternate the two every two hours until fever breaks. But if the child doesn't calm down I would go to the doctor or emergency room.
Good luck. Remember try to stay calm because if you get upset this will upset the child.

At this age it can be a number of things. As long as it is a low temp, let it go and the body will use this to fight the infection. It the crying is continuous for several hours I would insist that a doctor look at her. Hold her, rock her, try a stroller ride or car ride and see what happens. It could be that something hurts and will take the medication 15-20 minutes to take affect. Check to see if she has eaten anything different than normal, done anything different than normal yesterday or today. It could also be constipation if she has not had a bowl movement. If that could be the case, try pear juice. Open a can of pears and pour a couple ounces of the juice into a cup or bottle for her, that will will work within the hour.
Good Luck!

If the child can't tell you what is hurting then you should get her to a doctor, it may be a virus, or infection of some type. You may try a heating pad on low on the tummy to see if that helps and a little warm chamomile tea with honey (just a spot) if it's her tummy. If it's teeth give her a frozen pop to chew on or a frozen washcloth. The cold helps the gums and the cloth helps cut the tooth through, because of the rough surface. No offense but at 16 months the child should be able to tell you where she hurts. Talk quietly and soothingly, hopefully she will do the same to help you help her. Good Luck. Nana

You measuring the temperature with a forehead thermometer or the real thing? If the thermometer isn't so great you probably didn't get a good reading. If it's a good thermometer and her temp is definitely low I'd take her in or call a doc out. But I suspect the 36C isn't right - low temp seems pretty unusual.
BTW wailing is good. It's when they don't wail that you worry.

That seems awfully low. I've never heard of an illness or infection causing the child to LOSE their temperature. I'd call your baby's pediatrician (How do you know they'll tell you give her fluids? Has this happened with her before?) and see what he/she tells you. Walking in circles doesn't sound right either.

For your own peace of mind take her down to Accident and Emergency. You can never be to sure with little ones. This happened to my son when he was 6 months old it was awful. i went down to A&E and they seen to him more or less straight away. It wont do you any harm taking her, you have to be so careful. I dont mean to worry you but have you checked for a rash? I know it sounds very daunting but you need to check these things. Hope she's ok. Give her some Calpol (Children paracetamol) and put her in a nice cool bath with lots of fluids to drink and then take her to A&E. Good luck. Mother of One!!xxxxxxxxxx

If the temperature or the crying continues for more than 12 hours (or if the discomfort awakens her) without relief, it's time to get that baby to the doc's. There's probably something more than teething going on, so it's better to have it checked out than to try to ignore it.

keep her in an section the position that's calm and quiet. If she's round different chihuahuas or the position there is different noise, that's going to stress her out extremely on the grounds that she's in a clean ecosystem. also, she needs worrying human contact so she knows that she's being loved. So look at bypass-examine her often times and puppy her. that is a sturdy element you keep her from the doggy generators. Its unhappy there is even doggy generators round contained in the rustic.
