I quote: "our son just won his first case" --> points to a yes doesn't it.

He'll probably get back with a reply tommorow or later today. Enjoy for the moment.

And actually the word "Clean" and "cleaning" are found in the dictionnary and specifies what "clean" is. ;) Let's hope your dad doesn't find out ;)

Enjoy the glory.

No, the question is, did you understand what your dad meant and wanted when he told you to clean your room and if you did, then you deliberately disobeyed him. Go clean your room like you know he wanted it done the first time and how you know it should be cleaned.

Ask him the difference between the letter of the law and the intent of the law. Then, clean your room.

Sounds like so many arguments that I've had with my parents. People don't tend to like semantic arguments, but who knows? Maybe you'll be our next president because of it (God help us).

(Sigh) guess you won this time, but in the future you do know what your parents mean when they say, "clean your room."

yes, you definitely won. me, being a smartass like yourself, feel that whenever you can justify your own actions, even in the most roundabout way, you've won.

stick with my motto - 'i do what i want'
