Sounds like you have either a broken gear box or transfer box mounting get it on a ramp and inspect Regards Mick

have the shifter check for proper adjustment and check to make sure nothing is broken in shift linkage. if all ok there and it is hard to get into gears you can try...... change the manual transmission oil.... put automatic transmission fluid dextron II in the manual transmission. leave it in for about 500 to 1000 miles no longer and do not take long driving trip with this fluid in there. believe it or not ATF fluid will clean the synchronizers in the transmission which get a varnish on them causing them to stick and not shift gears smooth. after you have gone 500-1000 miles, drain ATF out and put in Synthetic Gear oil, if you still have a problem you may need to take it to the audi dealer which will be expensive. you may have a clutch disc problem if it is all the gears. oil on disc or throw-out bearing bad. or air in the hydraulic clutch pedal system. good driving.

Sounds like your clutch is going. How many miles do you have on it? In most cases what you say is going on its the trans grabbing a little because the clutch does not fully disengage from the engine. Have a good Audi tech take a quick ride they can tell you for sure. Putting the wrong oil in a trans can cause serious wear and it is not something I would recommend.

after you're done having a mechanic look at it to tell you if its broke or you dont know how to shift, find some one who sells BG products and have some BG synchroshift installed in it. Its the best gear oil Ive ever used. bgfindashop.com
