I thought Yahoo was a family safe place.....but when I went to answer some questions today..I was pretty upset by the questions I saw...most of which were "removed by Customer Care" yet still available for viewing!!!!!!!!!! This would not bother me if they did not contain sexually explicit and in some cases ("we need girls for Roman showering") downright offensive.

yahoo certainly isn't a family website
it's x rated as you can't get in unless your security settings are on low
the answers team do not delete too much as they seem to like those type of things
they only delete a few a day and that's it

Most of the ones you see like that are probably cached lists. Caching just means that rather than every time someone requests a page it checks the database for it, the code will first check to see if this page has been requested recently and use those old results to populate the page.

From what I have seen there is a really small delay for the home page, but a slightly bigger one for the sub pages and an even larger one for the question responses.

DITTO ,I have no answer for your answer because I am still waiting on mine. I imagine because it is open to everyone this stuff happens. I was hit with a virus and sick porn when accessing an answer. It is in no way family friendly,my kids can't ask here sadly. My teens are not allowed here ever because of the stuff. But from some of the questions there are lots on here anyways. I do not know how they can get that cleaned up it is very troubling to many of us does anyone care there who knows. Take care hope you get an acceptable answer soon ~A~

Personally I think the whole taboo about sex and sexuality is rather dated... It's perfectly naturally to be interested in sex and education about sex will not turn children into depraved sex mad perverts I assure you.. In the netherlands open education about sex yes even explicit questions is promoted at a very young age and the country has the lowest "underage" pregnancy rate in europe. If you really want to consider censorship of anyhting then why not look at the violence and gore that is in mainstream mass media... I'd rather my children where asking me a few embarrassing questions about sex rather than slicing people up with machetes. But hey thats just me.

This forum is far from being a family friendly safe place. The so called Answers Team is sorely lacking in judgment.

get a life, first. if you don't like a question move on and let others who like answering them answer. Why be so critial. Theres no reason to be offened. Some of us dont mind reading and answering them. They need a place for them questions though.

Welcome to THE INTERNET. There's no such thing as a family safe place, despite all advertisement to the contrary. We here at THE INTERNET recommend that you talk to your kids, so that when they do encounter potentially offensive material, they're less likely to be traumatized by it. THE INTERNET also suggest that you supervise your children. We here at THE INTERNET are not legally obligated to do it for you.
