Not so! I love to wear one piece dresses and flowing long skirts.

I will agree though that in general, it seems that stylish dressing (outside of the office suit) seems to be rare. It shocks me to see people walking into 5 star restaurants and Broadway shows in sneakers and jeans. I don't know if it is a lack of respect, low self esteem, or simply not knowing any better and not appreciating the situation. It could even stem a little from ties to women's liberation and attempts to break from the old stereotypical mold. I guess it varies for each woman.

Pants when it's practical make sense (I'm not going to garden or play with little children in a fancy dress!). But I for one, look forward to dressing up in a dress for occasions. After all, when you look good, you feel good!

I've often said I wish I could've been a young man back in the 50's when most of the women wore dresses. I'm so tired of looking at women in slacks and jeans all the time that I don't know what to do. The few women who do wear dresses are far sexier than those who, in many cases, look so dumpy in their jeans. Like everything else, I guess the wearing of dresses is pretty much a thing of the past.

I love sun dresses, those are the sexiest things women can wear. But some people think they are too skimpy. Plus I guess a lot of women wear skirts now, you can mix and match skirts and tops so that one skirt can potentially be a part of 5 outfits. A dress is an outfit and that is all it can be.

With today's feminist ideals, women are to be treated "equal" to men. Therefore women are expected to do the same day-to-day tasks as men do. Skirts and dresses limit your ability to do this, specifically when it comes to manual labor. Due to the changing times it is more important that a woman pull our own weight rather than uphold that "lady like" persona. Thank women's lib for that!

I think dresses are classy and sophisticated, but it's hard to find 1 that works for yuor body and looks good to wear. You can still be really girly and "snazzy" w/ out a dress though.

One word - Practicality. Also, there're lot of sick perverts out there using their camera-phone to secretly photograph a woman's underwear up their skirt is a good reason why!

Skirts are the 'In' thing now. Dresses require pantyhose and that makes them very incomfortable

There just aren't reasonably priced dresses. And they aren't "in" so people are scared to wear them.

its a hassle sometimes beacuse we have to shave and find the perfect shoes or sandals, and have the pedicurte done and accessorize... we can dress up jeans and slacks too but its just less of a hassle, everythign doesnt have to be perfect in jeans or slacks....
