When ever I want to see or talk with them. I close my eyes and puts me in meditative mood thinking about good times with them, then I will talk with them as we are in a dream which makes every thing near reality. This type of exercises make me not miss anyone even if they left and know we will never see them. Also I will not think about them if I don't want to worry on them. This is life and every thing go on as god wishes.

Gather up some of your closest friends and have a girls night out (assuming you're a girl). It'll keep your mind off things. You have to realize that there are more important things to do than to cling on to the past. You have move on with your life. Also be aware that not only are you bringing yourself down, but you're bringing down those who are closest to you. They don't want you to see you hurting, so they're going to try their best to cheer you up. Don't ignore them, let them help you move past it. In the mist of it all, you'll gain a better understanding of how important you friends and family really are. I wish you the best!

I get out my photo albums and remember the good times. I also sing my grandmother's songs and tell her stories to my children just like she did for me when I was little. That always helps. She has been gone for nearly 4 years and talking to my kids about her helps out alot.

You get out in the world where the people are. If you are
interacting with others you won't be sitting alone & brooding.
You have to keep busy.
