Here is a small recap of the episode:
Episode name: As Time Goes By
Aired: Monday, February 21, 1983.
Margaret and Hawkeye work on a time capsule to commemorate their time in Korea; Rizzo and BJ goof around with a fake hand grenade; Klinger becomes smitten with a young, pretty Korean war criminal.

Hawkeye has a problem dealing with the death of a young South Korean baby killed by its mother to save them all from a North Korean patrol during a picnic at an ocean beach. He is hospitalized in Soul while the other get ready to go home. B.J. gets a motorcycle, Hot Lips and Charles finally admit they like each other, but that is it. Klinger gets his wife sent back to the states with him. Col. Porter rides off into the sunset on a horse which he gives up to a Korean before he gets in a Jeep. The nurses all pile into a bus and Hawkeye shows up at the last minute and says goodbye to B.J. and gets on a chopper. In my opinion not a good ending because it was not at all funny, however, was very dramatic

The war was over and everyone got to go home. BJ refused to say "bye" to Hawkeye but spelled it out in rocks on the ground so Hawk could see it when his helicopter took off. Hawk had a nervous breakdown because (oh, its a long story, but a good one). Rent the tape, it's worth watching.

War ended and they all went their ways. Hawkeye went to a mental hospital, but got out at the very end. Good episode, but not what I think it could of been. All on dvd now. Check amazon.com

Basically, the end of the war and Hawkeye's mental breakdown.

In order for a busload of refugees to survive, a mother, in order to keep her baby from crying, was compelled by Hawkeye to smother it.

He lost his focus due to it.

There was more to it as well, as Winchester taught some Koreans how to play Mozart (but they were killed later one)

I do.
Hawkeye had gone nuts after watching a mother kill her baby to keep it from dying.
BJ, Peirce's longtime room mate wouldn't say 'Good Bye', he wrote it in the rocks by the helipad, and Hawkeye saw it as he was leaving the 4077 for home.
Really kinda sad show.
