Okay, I'm nearsighted, and I always read without my glasses, but at other times I wear my glasses. I can see things that are close up without my glasses but I can't see things far away. My mom bought me this purse and it has a matching glasses case, do you think I should start using it?

If you get along fine without them, why bother? I'm farsighted, but I get by okay without my glasses. I honestly haven't worn them for anything other than reading in about 6 months, but I still keep them handy.

Hello. I don't think it's essential to wear glasses when you are nearsighted. I am nearsighted too, and spent money to buy a stylish pair of glasses, thinking that I would change my image in the process. But I hardly wear them because I don't have alot of instances where I have to read anything far away. I also found that wearing my glasses all the time was putting a strain on my eyes (despite what the doctors say). So I don't wear them.

If you have glasses you should wear them exactly how the eye doctor told you too and when.

To not wear them will just result in you wearing them longer and longer in your life if not for the rest of your life.

In 5th grade I was given glasses due to being farsighted (not able to see close up). I hated them, just flat up hated them. But I wore them and by my freshman year I got rid of them.

Then when I was 22 I had a spell for some reason and had to get glasses again. This time I wore them for under 1 year and my eyes re-corrected themselves again.

I am now 37 and have not worn glasses or contacts since that year at 22.

It might suck now to wear them but what sucks more....few years or the rest of your life?

Things far away like approaching trucks and cars? Get some cool frames that flatter and get yourself some contacts (you'll adjust, they're easy) and go from there. Your eyes tend to get worse as you get older, not better, and using the computer also ruins your eyes. But since you are at a computer right now, I am figuring that it's probably an essential to you.

Don't worry about it. But you need to see.

If they were perscribed to you, you should wear them when appropriate. Unless they obscure your vision when looking at things close by, I suggest wearing them constantly.
