My boyfriend of six months does community theater, and he just recently landed the lead role in a production, where there is alot of romance involved with the female romantic lead. So, I want brutal honesty here. How often to actors fall for each other during the rehearsing, etc. of the play? Is it pretty common?

Either it will happen or it won't. The only thing you can do is try to make your relationship work. If he leaves, he leaves. If he stays, you can trust him a little more. The truth is that it's an actor's job to fall in love with his acting partner, while they're on the stage. And then you go home. Emotionally mature actors understand the difference between falling in love with the character and falling in love with the actor.

It does happen. So, I can't guarantee that it won't. If you are worried about it, I would confront your boyfriend about it. Don't whine or tell him not to do the show because that'll end badly. Just tell him your concerns. Tell him that you're worried about what might happen between him and the female lead. Acting is strictly business, but just make sure that he understands your concern. He'll probably tell you there's nothing to worry about and it will all be okay. If you suspect something, talk to him about it. Relationships are about communication. Don't get mad at him and then not tell him why. Nothing good will come of that. Be supportive of him and he'll return the favor. You really have nothing to worry about anyway.

If you are concerned, may I suggest that you volunteer to help with the plays. We can always use people to help run lines, stage hands, set builders, customers, painters, prop people, and more. That way you get to share something that appears to be a passion in his life - the theater - and will hopefully grow closer together rather than apart. And who knows, you may find that you also love the theater once you get involved.

My wife and I have done theater together for over 30 years.

Well actors tend to be more flirty then other people. However, some romances do start with a play. I know a couple who were in a play last year and are getting married this month. However, it doesn't mean that that is what is going to happen to you. Trust your boyfriend and if he is stupid enough to cheat, then leave him.

Never. Show today and GONE forever. To be sure, go to all of their performances and get a front row seat.

I don't think that you have much to worry about. It has happened, but mostly in Disney movies.
