Good. He definitely deserved it. The award is given based on football performance, not on other aspects. Im happy FIFA overlooked his last act. He is a true legend, look up any past videos of him and watch his play speak for itself. And this year, he managed to revive all that talent despite being 34 - absolutely amazing.
For all who think it was bad sportsmanship not coming out to get his medal - hes not allowed to. Once red-carded, you stay in the locker rooms. And for all who still think he doesnt deserve it because of his headbutt, then you are looking at it the wrong way - hes not the 1st guy to have done something like that before.

Sure I think he's a great player and all, but people talk him up way too much. I don't think he's the best player in the World Cup and I'm sick and tired of hearing about him. Big deal.

Thats great news!. I think he deserved it BUT as one person posted here...Zizou really needs to see a shrink asap because hes got to tame his violent temper or else...it wont be on a football pitch where he will end up being floored!
Having said that, after watching his antics in the final...and getting sent off as a direct result....I really thought he had disgraced his team. his nation and most of all - HIMSELF!. No one can respect a great football player if they cannot control their emotions if it results in damaging their reputation and image.
It was a sad ending to a great career and HE has only HIMSELF to blame!!
He needs to grow up !
P.S. I have to partly agree with "trikster85"...I noticed that too from some of those French players. Its not nice to see that kind of unsportsmanship on satellite TV!

Zidane is a dirty french pig! He is such a coward that he didnt even go out to get his medal!! And french are such sore loosers that the trainer and one of the team players when they received the medal they took it off and put it in their pockets... they should e proud that they are second best in the world!!
