To understand the Ouija board, you must first understand it's quasi-mystical origins. The Ouija board is an American invention, introduced at the 1936 World's Fair. It's name (loosely translated from French and German, the creator's ethnicity) means "yes yes".
People have used this board to channel spirits from beyond, or to scare the bejesus out of my little sister. Does it work? There's no way to prove it does, and no way to prove it does not.
If anything, there is always that one person (that is to say, ME) who moves it ever-so-slightly to the number 6, then back, then to 6 again, then back, then to 6, followed by a light whimper from the high and drunken bastards I am playing with.
Anyways, you can always ask Sylvia Browne or John Edwards. I mean, they seem legit, don't they?

Although Ouija boards are usually sold in the novelty or game section of stores, many people swear that there is something occult about them. I believe Oujia Boards to be nothing more than a harmless bit of entertainment.

No, it doesn't work at all. It is a parlour trick. And it is marketed, and sold as a game. The reason it is called a game is because it doesn't work in any spiritual manner whatsoever.
It is the perceptions, and reactions, of the people using the board that makes it seem as if it works. Or the perceptions, and reactons, of the people watching the person controlling the board, who is likely to play tricks in order to make it seem as if the board works.

Depends. Do you want it to actually work? if you want it to work, and use it correctly, it will work for you. From my experiance all it spells out is cuss words, nasty misspelled insults or threats. Some times it will spell out crap in foreign or dead languages like, like Enochian, Aramehic, Spanish, German etc. But 99% it will spout out nonsense and tell you it's encrypted when it's actually not.
Don't waste your time on this garbage.

I believe that it does. often I have heard that it only works if you believe while you are using it.
